back in stock...

...and smiling bright as they use Colgate. i have put four of the calico plush teeth up on etsy. it has been too long. i am in the motion of trying to sort out some more market days and shop outlets for my goods. if anyone has any suggestions please leave me a comment or email me. i am now trying to make a fox and lion. i am trying to learn some new plush sewing techniques in order for them to be less 2D and flat stanley like. fingers crossed please as i hope to solve a great sewing mystery but i am bit worried about what i may achieve this evening as i have a killer headache brewing. i bet them two brain cells are arguing.

back in black...

...erm...back in mechanical pencil are the lions of Manchester. here we have a page that has taken a while to draw. the mister john is in the top left hand corner. i often get dragged to his lab on a Sunday for 'ten minutes' while he preps some work for the week ahead. i finally finished it off last night on the train to Stoke-on-Trent and this dinnertime in the Cafe at Marks & Sparks. i am planning a page of lions every other day, like it used to be before i got the lazy germs that have been going around. i am hoping to update the etsy shop tomorrow with some plush teeth -they are back in stock- and i hope to have some time to have another go at making a textile fox. i treated myself to the new Shaun Tan book this morning. i found it by accident whilst browsing in Waterstones. plus upon purchasing said item, the lady asked if i would like to use the the points off my card to pay for it, i said 'aye, yes please' so it goes to show that all these 'point/loyalty' schemes do pay off in the end! the metre big robotington has now gone to his new home in Huddersfield and he was that enjoyable to make that i may make two or three more in that size as god knows i have enough fabric to do so.

hello...

...sorry that there have been no updates this week. i have been tackling the 'to-do list' and trying my best to get out and breathe in some fresh air. here is a quick run down of what i have been doing. After work on Monday, I continued making the metre big robotington which is a custom order. there he is, sat in the red chair of rescue. i am unsure about the scarf but we shall see. after work on Tuesday, I joined the lovely Nico and a group of fellow crafters at a Lo-Fi DIY night that was held at Common in the Northern Quarter. It was a great night. I took the metre robotington with me to work on and the majority of the group knitted. i also learnt how to finger knit. Wednesday was a day for a mini supply hunt for buttons and wool and i sewed the robotington parts together. Thursday was a day of wondering and a staff night out. I spent the night dancing. Friday was another full day at work and after that i think i knitted and rested while i watched telly. Saturday, again was another work day and afterwards i went on a hunt for a skipping rope and continued with the scarf and other bits and bobs. Sunday i decided to have a Mega Monica clean out and have thrown out loads of stuff, fabric, paper, work and crap that was clogging up my space and ideas. somehow everything feels clean and do-able.

pop down...

...to the Pop-Up Exhibition at The Lowry at Salford Quays to see some amazing pieces of pop-up work. The pictures above is of a pop-up that I created for a group collaboration and can be seen in the cabinets that can be found upstairs. I am still trying to figure out what to do next on the to-do list but am snowed under with orders for robotingtons. The work is all handed in now for the mafia exhibition and I am going to attempt a mini story in the form of a zine which should be amusing. I went to the hospital on Friday to see the nose doctor and there is nothing that can be done about my stupid nose except live with it and take medication. I was too upset and angry to draw any hospital/doctor lions so i drew one acorn instead.
