fresh off the print press...

...i started working on an A5 piece of copper on Wednesday evening in artlab. over the last couple of days i have done a hard ground etch which is the line work and three different aquatints which are the tonal areas of the print. i was going to print the deckchair as red and sea a mixture of blues but in the end i went for a mixture of blues all over. the little printing press isn't working correctly so i didn't stay too long in the print room today. the bottom image is a close up of the print and its tonal areas.

Love the design and the texture! My younger sister did a lot of printing whilst on her degree. I can't remember what sort of printing it was though. I know absolutely nothing about printing techniques - I did go to see a famous Artist's etchings in the Grundy some months ago. I can't remember his name though! Harr! - I have a brain like a sieve!

Hope you are Ok hun, thanks also for all the encouragement with my practical deadline worries!
