cotton and calico...

...another day of fast and furious printing in the print room. i was also at artlab this evening preparing a new copper plate for etching. i am excited about it as the plate is A5 in size and i quite like the image though it doesn't fit in with the story so i thought while i take a mini break from screen printing that i would have another go at doing an aquatint. i completed two edition print runs this afternoon. the new Lascaux inks are beautiful to print with and i cant wait to screen print with them again. after artlab i decided to finally get on the sewing machine and make up a robber bird in fabric. i had been meaning to do this since about two or three weeks ago. pretty much as soon as i had first drawn him as i knew that the doodle had pattern potential. so here is he all flat stanley like as i putting him on the photocopier tomorrow as i haven't fed him any fibre filling yet. he is about 13cm tall and 10cm wide. i was going to make a big one first but thought a small one would best like what i did with the robotingtons and then work my way up to a big one and then an even bigger one.
