a big fish...

...after painting the little ones, i decided to paint a big one on it's own and try and do abit more lettering-well focus abit more on lettering-big lettering. if you wish, double click on the image to see it bigger. i tired to paint it on the 'fish' page but i have already used that dictionary page for something else. the fish talk is inpsired by a line i read in the jules verne book, twenty odd leagues under the sea.

Ladysnail I *love* these illustrations! Really like the combination of illustrating something new onto a found piece of paper like the dictionary page. I've just bought Oliver Jeffer's 'The Incredible Book Eating Boy' which uses this sort of technique a lot. Great stuff (your work and his)!

Cor, I love that nice fishy aqua colour on the tatty brown dictionary paper. I like this fish best. He reminds me of something Drinky Crow from the maakies comics might say whilst on one of his drunken benders with Uncle Gaby.
